Who are we

Sébastien Moreaux, pianist and composer, together with Paula Casado Aguirregabiria, photographer and humanitarian worker with Doctors Without Borders (MSF), launched this awareness-raising initiative in France and Spain in 2024.

While drinking coffee at a Greek restaurant in Cairo, Egypt, Paula was explaining some of her experiences in South Sudan to Sébastien. "We need to share this with the world, Paula," he said, with sparkling eyes. From that evening, they decided to create Culture Bridges Initiative (CBI). This initiative has two sides: one, raising awareness in Western countries about silenced conflicts in the world, using human stories, music and photography; two, raising funds to support existing initiatives in the so-called "Global South" that use music and arts to bring hope and cohesion to contexts "in the borders" like refugee camps.
